Cervantes Lodge No. 5, F∴ & A∴M∴, was founded in 1842 to serve the Spanish-speaking Masonic community of New Orleans. For almost two centuries, the Lodge has preserved its distinctive heritage while remaining faithful to the enduring principles of Freemasonry. The Lodge works in the first three degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and uses a ritual that reflects both historical continuity and a deep respect for the Craft’s symbolic teachings.

Cervantes Lodge No. 5 traces its origins to the rich and complex tradition of Spanish-speaking Freemasonry in New Orleans. The Lodge stands today as the last surviving foreign-language Lodge chartered by the Grand Lodge of the State of Louisiana, preserving a heritage shaped by generations of Brothers from throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

Founded in 1842 as Los Amigos del Orden Lodge No. 5 and later consolidated with Silencio Lodge No. 9, the Lodge has long been distinguished by its cultural continuity, international character, and philosophical depth.
